2012 launch of the field project led by Norah Jones. Material for the For the Good Times album was taken from the repertoire of the Willies’ live, and passing around ideas from different sources. Selections include surprising choices, such as the trucker classic “Diesel Smoke, Dangerous Curves” and “Foul Owl On The Prowl” the soundtrack to In The Heat Of The Night. In addition to the more obscure songs, but for the good times, even some of the most famous songs in the history of country music like Dolly Parton of “Jolene” and the title track, written by Kris Kristofferson and made famous by singers like Al Green and Ray Price.
A warm, ready to collect the cafes of covers of country and Americana, “For the Good Times” seems unassuming, refined, more relaxed and worked as the Little Willies self-titled debut ’2006.
This For the Good Times mix covers with grace and ease. There is a sense of joy that permeates the album, because it is not hard, people like to charge. Rather, Norah Jones and company loose and sink your teeth into this beautiful song written by Kris Kristofferson, Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash, among others.
